A Truly Fantastic Sport

Baseball is a magnificent sport. It requires many skills to play. Unlike many other sports, it is a thinking game too. For example, batters have to think and react to what the pitcher throws them. In the professional leagues, pitchers throw up to one hundred miles per hour. That is very hard for batters to catch up to. What makes baseball even harder is that batters need to adjust to curveballs. Curveballs are about twenty miles slower than fastballs. All in all, baseball is not only a physical sport but it also includes a lot of mental things.

In baseball, there are many different plays. Some of the most exciting plays in baseball are when batters hit the ball over the fence for a home run. However, sometimes fielders climb the fence to catch the ball and prevent a home run. When fielders prevent home runs, it is even more exciting. Other times, fielders will dive and catch the ball. Baseball players have to put in a lot of effort in order to succeed. In addition, it takes a lot of work and repetitions in order to be the best on the field. In conclusion, baseball is a truly fantastic sport because it involves a lot of physical play but it also includes a mental part to the game.
